  I just had to endure THE most useless and incompetent staff at the Ballina IGA. After spending 10 minutes scanning the shelves in the dairy cold section for mascarpone cheese, I approached a staff who was stocking water in the fridge. I asked if the shop stocked mascarpone cheese and "yeah, yeah, yeah", she replied, "in the dairy section... it's in a round tub". I went over to the same dairy section again and after rescanning the shelves thoroughly for another 10 minutes, I decided to look for a staff to help me find it. There were none to be found on the floor, so I approached a young lady who was wiping down one of the check out counters. "Excuse me, I would just like to know if you stock mascarpone cheese because I've spent at least 15 minutes altogether looking for it in the dairy section where another staff assured me it was, but i still can't find it. Could you please tell me if you stock it or not?" Her reply was: "What was that? Massapone...? Is that rain outside?"

  At that point, I just walked away from ditsy girl and towards the service desk. There was no one there. I didn't want to spend another minute wasting my time with useless people.

  After watching The War on Waste I was so happy to be told that IGA do not have absurd size and shape restrictions on their fruit and vegetables.

  Great stock but don't go near the self serve checkouts. The management here need to update these or have permanent staff managing them. The self serve checkouts play up constantly putting the poor girls that staff them under pressure. Go to a staffed checkout instead.
